All it takes was some imagination, a stick-to-it attitude, common sense, and the ability to think outside the box. I started by being clear about my goals, my target audience, my pet shop’s specific strengths, how to capitalize on it and how to turn my passion into a business. And then come PETNESS WORLD LLC!
Now, I have many good reasons to take pride in my work. Not only that I do serve the needs of the pet shop and the team that I work with, but I also serve the many animals that come through the pet shop and the people who love them. The way I treat people in my daily life is an important part of my professional and personal brand. I’m more of a team member, care giver, public educator and a role model. The added bonus to it is of being able to play with animals as part of my day, helping socialize the pets.
By the way, you are invited to join a very important team – a team with lots of responsibility, a winning attitude that they are all positive about their work and take pride in the service we are providing. If challenges arise, we work together to solve the problems – without blame. We collectively enjoy in the pet shop’s success. We offer you a long-term training, not only will you learn to care for the animals, but you will also have terrific opportunities to develop your communication and marketing skill, facilities management expertise, you might even be able to learn other basic business skills. The longer you will be with us, the better you can serve the animals, the pet loving public, and your teammates.
As a pet shop staff, the animals in the pet shop depends on you to ensure their health and safety. The more attention you can
give to their care, the healthier and happier they will be – and the more likely it is that they will find new safe place to go.
Carefully inspect the health of each new animal that comes into the pet shop.
Protect animals from distress or injury that can be caused by other animals.
Observe how much the animals are eating and report animals that are not eating well.
Position water vessels so that they are readily accessible to the animals, and so as to prevent spillage, overheating, contamination, and use by animals visiting the pet shop.
Ensuring human health and safety is just as important as attending to the animals’ health care, so, wash your hands with disinfectant soap after being in contact with the animals, food and water dishes, toys, and other items.
